The incident began around 6 p.m. when police responded to the TEG Federal Credit Union at 11 Marist Drive for a reported bank robbery, said Capt. Ken Roman.
The suspect, described as a black male, 5-foot-11, wearing a black coat, a green scarf and black gloves, robbed the bank before fleeing in a vehicle onto Marist Drive heading toward North Road, Roman said.
It was later reported that the vehicle had a minor accident on North Road near Marist College South Gate. The vehicle was later recovered unoccupied in the City of Poughkeepsie, he added.
Police K9 and patrols conducted an area search but were unable to locate the suspect, Roman said.
